Forever and Ever

Sketch Challenge #161
I truly enjoyed today's sketch. I used the Pick A
Petal for my main image. I stamped it in Creamy
Caramel on Very Vanilla paper and Vellum to
soften the look. For the center flower, I used the
Sweet Celebration set for the main circle and
added the scallops. It was done using the 1/2 inch
Circle Punch and just glued the circle
one by one around it. I just love using the Pretties for a card like this. I even added the prima flowers with the pearls.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Pick A Petal,Sweet Celebraions, A Beautiful Thing
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla, DSP Chocolate Chip, and Groovy Guava, Vellum
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, White gel Pen

Sweet Frame

Color Challenge #151
You are actually seeing yellow in this card. As a matter of fact it is Yoyo Yellow... and the other two colors, Basic Gray and Going Gray. Those are the color challenge today. I also did a sketch from Tamara's blog .
I did the Itty Bitty BG for the BG panel, used the "Nesties" next, sponge the white paper with Going Gray and stamped the main image in Basic Gray. I just took the size of the WW paper and cut my frame a little bit smaller using my Cutter.
I used the slit punch for the scallops, and used yellow brads for a color coordinated look.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sweet Dreams, Itty Bitty BG, Happiness BG, Happy Everything
Paper: Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow, Going Gray, Basic Gray
Ink: White Craft, Basic Gray, Going Gray
Accessories: Tafetta Gray Ribbon, Yellow Brads

Dahlia

Try a New Technique #153
The sun is up today which is a good thing. All I need is a little motivation to start doing some cleaning around the house, until I saw this technique today -making a dahlia fold card. Here is the website for the instructions on how to make it. There is very little stamping here. I did use the Floral for the background stamped in Soft Sky ink. I used two layers of the Nesties and punched holes on the scallops. You need 8 circles to make this flower(the smaller the circle, the harder it is to fold). I used the 13/8 " circle punch for this card, used the Bali Breeze DSP. I alternated the colors, just get some variety but you can keep them the same design. For the center I used the Sweet Celebrations set which I am beginning to enjoy using. I used the pretties for the center and a rhinestone brad.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Floral BG, Sweet Celebrations
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, DSP Bali Breeze
Ink: White Craft, Soft Sky
Accessories: Rhinestone brad, Pretties, DS Ribbon, Silver brads
Tools: Phot Corner Punch, 1/16 Punch, 13/8 Punch

Love Letters

Featured Stamper #51
It is a wet, cold and gloomy day; I just felt like staying in bed and do a movie marathon (that's
what my DH and I call it our lazy day and just watched movies). This would have been a perfect day for that, but I have to do some packing for my Regional in Anaheim. I have to work the next few days and this is "the day"to do all that.
But then I have to squeeze a little time to do a card for today's FS-StampingPam. Pam has a wonderful gallery and blog. Here is the card I cased. I have to substitute the letters since I do not have the set she used, and with V-day coming up, I could use some cards for the occasion. The letters were stamped in white Craft and embossed in Irredescent Ice which turned out really sparkly IRL and very cool effect. I used The So Swirly for the BG first in White Craft then In Purely Pomegranate. I added the Tafetta Gray ribbon, and some bling for my finishing touches.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Letters of LOve, Circle of Friendship, Sweet Celebrations, So Swirly BG
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, White Craft
Accessories: Gray Tafetta Ribbon, Bling
Tools: Tool Kit, Scallop Punch, 11/4",13/8", 1/2" Circle Punches, Non SU Circle Punch,EP and Heat Gun

Blossom Wishes

Inspiration Challenge #112
It is just such a nice feeling when weekend comes and you
don't have to work. However, there is laundry, cleaning ,
dusting and cooking. Oh , forget about the cooking part. My friends know who does the cooking around this house. My DH does pretty much does that. Anyhoo, I do have a little time to do the challenge today. Here is the inspiration piece.
I used 3 background stamps to get me going on this card-
En Francais,Canvas and Fine Lace. I used the both way Blossoms which is the closest I can find that resembles the bulbs in the inspiration, but I wasn't too keen about coloring it olive, so I did changed the colors. I did incorporate the colors in the background. One of the blooms has CE but of course it's hard to see. The vellum sentiment was done using 2 Circle Punches , supposedly to make it look like a metal tag. Thanks to my friend Lorri who showed as this technique.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Both Way Blossoms,Canvas, En Francais, Fine Lace, Circle of Friendship
Paper: Ruby Red, Cameo Coral,Basic Black, Whisper White, Old Olive,Vellum
Ink: Ruby Red, Old Olive, Staz-On Black
Accessories: Gingham Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Hemp, Eyelet, Brads
Tools: Dimensionals. 1/16 Punch, 11/4" and 13/8 inch Circle Punches

I really wanted to do the challenge for today (rather than sleep) here I am with a card that I made from scraps. That's the challenge for today-using scraps to make a card. I had some leftover Ginger Blossoms DSP that I cut from a recent workshop that I decided to use to make this fan-fold "flower design". It's 2x2 paper and I used 3 pieces to make this flower. I added Crystal Effects on the blossoms to give that shiny look.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Embrace Life, Sweet Serendipity
Paper: Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, DSP
Ink: Mellow Moss, Rube Red, Staz-On Black, Encore Silver
Accessories: Brads, Organdy Ribbon, Charm Button, Crystal Effects
Tools: 1/16 Punch, Dimensionals

ME!!! I am getting a bit excited (jumping for joy )
that I get to go with some of my stamping sisters.
I am working on my swaps and this is one of the sets that I am working on. I kept it cute, quick and simple. I used almost the same layout for my
workshop and they loved it. The 2 birds were stamped first in WW paper and I stamped it in Soft Sky and Taken with Teal paper, cut it out and popped in dimensionals. I used small oval punch and small circle punch for the shadowing.
The backgroud is stamped using the flower from the A Beautiful Thing set.
RECIPE:
Stamps: A Little Bird told Me, A Beautiful Thing
Paper: Taken with Teal, Soft Sky, River Rock, DSP Bali Breeze
Ink: Basic Balck, Taken with Teal, Soft Sky

Sketch Challenge #160
Color Challenge #150
I thought I will never have the energy to stamp after the"Girls' Night Out " I did for the Virtual Stamp Night.
If anything, I would not want to go through cleaning my stamp room like I did last Sunday. OMG!!! It was a total disaster. My kids were probably wondering if I had gone mad. It took me a whole day to put everything...well almost everything in the right place and order.
Now that I can actually see the floor in my stamp room, I can stamp again. Here is the card that I did for the 2 challenges on SCS. Here is the sketch for today. The Color Challenge-Real Red, Blue Bayou and Soft Sky. I used White Craft to stamped on the main panel, and on the 3 panels, I used Soft Sky ink. I have been neglecting my Define Your Life set, so I decided to used this for the sentiment. the 3 flowers were colored using the Aqua Painter.
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave comments.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Defining Alphabet, Define Your Life
Paper: Real Red, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Whisper White
Ink: White Craft, Real Red, Soft Sky

What A Cool Tool !!!

Rubber Stamp Pad
I did not get a chance to post today. I had every intention to do so, but before you know it, it was already time to do the VSN Girls Night Out!!!!
I have to share you my cards tomorrow. However, I wanted to share this pad that I purchased recently.
I really did not think this rubber mat is going to work but , Lo and behold it actually did. I have had some issues with stamping the big background images and stamps in general. I do not seem to stamp my image on paper completely and evenly. Using this tool seems to do the trick. It provides the best ink impressions. It is made of thick foam and it's large enough surface (11 x 17)to work on. I found it at JoAnn's for less than $6.00. I thought I'd share it with you if you have the same problems I have.

Serendipity

Ways to Use It #149
Hi everyone!!! The challenge for today is using Embossing Powder. I used Vellum cardstock for my base to embossed the background Floral in Detail White. I left it white to keep the clean look that I am hoping for.The butterfly was stamped twice using vellum and I mounted it on top of each other for a 3-D look. The whole card was really pretty IRL. The sentiment is from the Sweet Serendipity set (what a word) and you will love all the sayings. The sketch was inspired by Beate's SC here. I opted to put the sentiment on the panel.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sweet Serendipity, Priceless
Paper: Chocolate Chip,Soft Sky, Vellum cardstock
Ink: White Craft, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Satin Chocolate Ribbon, Brads
Tools: Photo Corner Punch, Detai White EP, Heat Gun, 1/16 Ounch, Dimensionals

Bling !!!

Sketch Card #159
I am kinda behind my ususal schedule posting, but I had a workshop today, so I did not have much time this morning for the challenge. But here is the card that I came up with for today's sketch.Click here to see the sketch. I used the set One of a Kind. As you probably had guessed, I call it my "Bling "card, which is the most bling I used in one card. The main flower was stamped twice in Purely Pomegranate and I used Aqua Painter to add some color. I used the 1/2 punch circle to do my scallops with a little twist-stamping it first and adding the bling. Pretty cool, huh ? The ribbons could probably have used a little more work, but it will do for now.
RECIPE:
Stamps: One of A Kind
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive, Bali Breeze DSP and Very Vanilla
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive
Accessories: DS Ribbon, Rhinestones
Tools: 1/2 Circle Punch, Crystal Effects, Non SU Circle punch, Dimensionals

My New Toy

Boho Blossoms Punch
I wanted to show you my new toy that I got yesterday. Here is the Boho Blossoms Punch which is a perfect fit for this stamp from the
One of A Kind set. I used both from the card I did below. This is my very first time to used this two together, so I am getting the feel for it.
If you want to know how to get these products, you can Contact Me or call your SU demonstrator.
I think this would be a fun card to do on my next Just for You challenge. What do you think?

One of a Kind

Color Challenge #149
Today's color challenge was inspired by two challenges posted in the Fan Club Gallery. I used this skecth for today's Color Challenge-Rose Red,Sage Shadow and Apricot Appeal. I was going to used a DSP for the background, but when I saw the wall on the inspiration piece, I decided to used the Boho Background and use that instead. The flowers were stamped and punched using the Boho Blossoms punch (my new toy) and it can punch 3 flowers at the same time. How cool is that?

Ink: Rose Red, Apricot Appeal, White Craft,White Gel Pen

I added the Rhinestone brads in the center of the flowers. The scallops were done by punching 1/2 circles and gluing them on the flap of the heart. I used the white gel pen for the scallops and used 1/16 punch around it.

Faux Leather

Ways to Use It #148
Here is a great challenge to use Liquid Applique to your cards and have the look of leather.
I created this Faux leather background for a masculine card. The Wanted set seems to be a perfect choice. I love the feel of it after it was done. Here is how you do this technique: Squeeze the liquid applique into your paper and determine the size of paper that you need. I smoothed the liquid with my finger, seems to work better than any gadget there is. Stamp the image you want and then used a Heat Gun to popped the applique, and done.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wanted, So Many Sayings
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, DSP Outlaw
Ink: Basic Black, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Brads, Chocolate Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Cutter's Kit for distressing

Brayered

Color Challenge #148
I have not had the time to play with the Nestebilities I got for Christmas, so today I am putting it to good use. The main image was Brayered and embossed after. I added the buttons that I have forgotten I had. That's what happen when you hoard stuff and so I am really going to get in the habit of using what I have in my stamp room. I used the Nestebilities and using the 1/8 Punch, I punched around the scallops. I added another Nestebilities for the BG. The other size of the Nestebilities is way too big for my card. The main BG was stamped in Barely Banana, and added Bordering Blue stamp off using the Best Blossoms.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sassy Stems, Best Blossoms, Cute Converse
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Barely Banana, and Blue Bayou, DSP, White Glossy
Ink: Basic Black Embossing,Barely Banana, Blue Bayou, Bordering Blue

Barely Red

SWAP Card
Here is another swap that I did for the same group using the Time Well Spent(hostess) set. The flower was stamped twice in Real Red and Barely Banana. The red was stamped in White Craft and the banana was stamped in Staz-On Black, cutting the outer layer of the flower so a little bit of the red shows. I then added the jumbo eyelet, threaded the Real Red grossgrain ribbon for added dimension. I used the Tres Chic BG stamped in Going Gray.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Time Well Spent
Paper: Basic Gray, Real Red, Barely Banana, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Ink: Staz-On Black, Real Red, White Craft
Accessories: 5/8 Red Grossgrain Ribbon, Red brads, Jumbo Eyelets
Tools: Tool Kit, Dimensionals, Crop-a-dile, 1/16 punch

Groovy

SWAP Card
Here is a card that I did at a recent swap. The main panel was done using the Brayer technique. Stamp the image first then tear a paper to the desired length and width and brayer around it. The flower was stamped twice in Creamy Caramel first and then I stamped the image on DSP and cut some areas around the flower , so some of the caramel will show, mounted it on dimensionals after I added the black eyelet. I added the Stickles last.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Embrace Life
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Groovy Guava, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink: White Craft, Staz-On Black, Groovy Guava, Cameo Coral

Here is her gallery if you want to play along.

Create

Inspiration Challenge #109
Today's inspiration piece is from Pottery Barn entry way. Click here to see it.
I remember having a DP from SU! that resembles a wooden wall, so I went digging for it in order to do the inspiration I had in mind. I love the Vases in Vogue. I was only going to do one but I got carried away and did three vases. The frame is from Quick and Cute set. It's the closest I can find to frame. I added the Stickles last.
The knob drawers are silver brads and I used a circle puncd and cut them halfway. The word "Create" is from Tres Chic.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Vases in Vogue, Tres Chic, Quick and Cute
Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky and scraps of DP from Ginger Blossoms.
Ink: Basic Black, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Ruby Red, White Craft
Accessories: Silver Brads, Stickles, Black brad, Hemp
Tools: Square Punches, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

White Blossoms

Limited Supply Challenge #149
I was inspired by the challenge today- use no White or Vanilla cardstock in your card. Here is the card that I came up with. Using Basic Black Craft, I stamped the flowers in Ruby Red paper and did embossing. After I embossed, I used the Aqua Painter and bleach on some of my petals. I left certain areas in their original Ruby Red color.
I used this Jelly roll pen that gives the flowers a glittery look, but it is hard to see in the pic. I applied it also around my sentiment.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Embrace Life, All Holidays
Paper: River Rock, Ruby Red, Basic Black, DSP Ginger Blossoms
Ink: Black Craft, Basic Black
Accessories: DS Ribbon, Black Brads
Tools: Small and large Oval Punch, 11/4",13/8' Circle Punches, Jelly Roll Pen

Ribbon Flower

Ribbon Flower Tutorial
Pic. 1 Stamp image on paper.
Pic 2 Trim image.

Pic 3. Use 1/4" Circle Punch for the center.
Use 1/8 Circle Punch for the petals.

Pic. 4 Color the petals as desired.

Pic. 5 In order to determine the length of the ribbon you are
going to need, it is best to measure the length from the
center to the petal. There are 10 holes, so I just folded
the ribbon 10 times and make sure you leave a little extra
ribbon to secure it with tape.
